Dr. Suzanne Yoder, Au.D., is the owner and founder of HearWell Center, a lifelong Pittsburgh-area resident, and an audiologist dedicated to helping adults with hearing loss understand their options and choose solutions that truly fit their lives.
Her inspiration for creating HearWell Center comes from both her professional experience and her own journey with hearing loss. Having lived with significant hearing loss since childhood and later undergone cochlear-implant surgery in both ears, Dr. Yoder understands that hearing care is rarely just about a test result or selecting a device. It can involve uncertainty, communication fatigue, changing relationships, work challenges, financial decisions, and the hope of feeling more connected again. Her personal cochlear-implant journey gives her a distinctive perspective on the practical and emotional sides of hearing care.
Dr. Yoder earned her bachelor’s degree from Thiel College in 2000, her master’s degree in audiology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002, and her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004. Her career has included experience working with ENT physicians, hospitals, schools, industrial hearing-conservation programs, universities and private practices.
At HearWell Center, Dr. Yoder has intentionally built a team that shares her commitment to compassionate, individualized hearing care. Every member of the practice is dedicated to helping adults navigate their hearing-care options with clear information, honest recommendations, and thoughtful support. Whether a patient is considering hearing aids, exploring cochlear-implant candidacy, managing changes in hearing, or seeking answers about balance concerns, the HearWell team takes time to understand the person behind the audiogram. Together, they help patients make informed decisions that support stronger communication, confidence, independence, and quality of life.
Dr. Yoder is board-certified by the American Board of Audiology and is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology. She remains committed to lifelong learning and providing care that reflects both current technology and the real-world needs of the people she serves.
She also enjoys mentoring audiology students, sharing her knowledge with future professionals, and contributing to the Pittsburgh-area communities she has called home throughout her life.
